La corticotropine peut être dosée dans le sang ou utilisée pour le test de stimulation à l’ACTH (pour le diagnostic de la maladie de Cushing ou hypercorticisme). On l’appelle aussi corticotropine, corticostimuline ou hormone corticotrope.
